What IF you don’t know what you want?

Here we are the first week in January and what if you don’t know what you want?

It may seem like every other entrepreneur is bursting with certainty. They are launching websites, developing new marketing strategies, or snapping into action in some aspect of their business with renewed vigor and passion.

BUT. HERE. YOU. ARE.

Not feeling clear.

Not experiencing certainty.

Maybe even annoyed by all those busy bees with all their passion?

Let’s face it, when you are NOT feeling it, there is nothing more irritating than people who ARE feeling it.

Maybe even panicked that you are supposed to have your year figured out and you might be left behind?

How do you shift into a place of Power?

Let’s begin with bringing something to the forefront that you may not be awake to in your thinking:

Not being clear/certain/passionate/purposeful/renewed/reinvigorated/energized

in January Should. Not. Be.

Check this out for yourself. When you feel uncertainty, do you embrace it? Do you grant yourself grace?

That is right, I thought you didn’t. Why not? Because hardly anyone does this automatically. We are hardwired for certainty and that which we can control.

So, what do you do if you are not certain about what you want?

First, set aside the drive to be certain and let yourself be where you are.

HERE. YOU. ARE.

Let yourself be with where you are.

Can you get the absurdity of thinking you should be anywhere else? This is time for a Zen moment. You are where you are. AND For Pete’s sake, it is ONLY January 5!

I just spoke with a client and we created a great January project for her to figure out what will be her business commitment in 2016. She has a timeline, actions to take and people resources. She is in discovery. We created that she is bringing curiosity.

Schedule some time to watch this talk by Elizabeth Gilbert bringing Curiosity rather than expecting the guiding beacon of Certainty and Passion.

What do you want this year? From curiosity, this is a GREAT fricking question!

Thank you for the courage that it takes to grow your business.
